Phoenix Gold has a wealth of history behind its name, starting out in 1985 as an accessories brand with Keith Peterson at the helm, we originally made wire and other accessories for mobile and home audio applications. Some of our first products included VHS tape re-winders, VHS player covers, car audio power wires, car audio interconnect cables, and other car audio installation accessories.
1990 – Our first steps into the world of amplifiers
In 1990 we made our first steps into the world of amplifiers with the MS-250 and MS-2125, these amplifiers had circuit boards that were 24K gold plated, which helped give Phoenix Gold a reputation for producing high-quality products, a reputation we work hard to retain to this day. Following the success of the MS-250 and MS-2125 we launched the MQ-430 which whilst not popular was quickly accompanied by the start of the M Series of amplifiers with the M25 and the rest of the MS range.
35 Years – In the industry with a portfolio to be proud of
With over 35 years in the industry, we have received a lot of customer requests over the years, in fact, our first limited edition amp, the Frank Amp ‘n Stein was a result of a customer requesting that two amplifiers be put on a single heat sink. According to the original designer Larry Fredericks, he came up with the custom design that is seen on the plexiglass viewing window and the colour scheme. They decided to use the MQ-430 and MS-2125 because they had about 100 leftover MQ-430 boards and decided to pair them with their most popular 2 channel model. This has led to several impressive, limited edition amps from Phoenix Gold over our history including The Outlaw and Bandit (1994), The Reactor (1996), THE ONE (2010) and the ZEN9 (2018).
Today – turning up the heat with the future of Phoenix Gold
